Lucas Mamaril is an emerging poet from Maryland, currently working on a manuscript he hopes to publish. His work explores romance, yearning, loneliness, paranoia, mental health, mixed-race identity, and his experience as a demi-pansexual ace writer. Drawn to both compression and sprawl: micro-poems, longer prose-driven pieces, and work that uses typography, spacing, and form as part of the poem’s meaning. He has a special interest in concepts that let the page do emotional work. In this submission he displays fragmentation, desire, violence, identity, and the unstable possibilities of language on the page.
